The Radford 17.5m - DSN#43 - is a moderate volume accommodation yacht with masthead rig, fixed bulb keel and spade rudder. The hull has a long waterline, lightish displacement and veed sections to make it easily driven and capable of good average speeds.
The hull and deck construction is FRP / foam sandwich. The design also has four collision or watertight bulkheads for added safety.
There is a boarding platform aft and transom doors for dingy stowage, which is part of a large lazarette accessed by deck hatches. There is also a sail locker, chain locker and anchor locker forward for extra stowage. The large cockpit is designed for comfortable day sailing or racing. For day sailing, the yacht can be handled from the steering cockpit leaving the balance of the cockpit free for guests.
The accommodation has forward and aft double cabins, two heads, a large saloon and galley, making it ideal for entertaining.
